学校现有3个领域共9个学院，包括人文艺术与社会科学领域的人文艺术学院，社会科学学院，语言学院，神学院，法学院，教育科学学院，和医药领域的医学院和药学院，以及科学技术领域的科学技术学院。2017学年，乌普萨拉大学有3个英语授课本科课程。

在乌普萨拉大学共有两种获得校方承认的学生社群组织: 药学院学生须加入药学院学会；其它学院的学生则加入乌普萨拉大学学生会，同时亦应加入Nation组织之一。药学院学生则可视其意愿加入Nation组织。

学生借由Nation组织、规划其社交活动，假若不愿参加Nation的活动，也可加入免会员费的斯科那地区Nation；也正式因此之故，乌普萨拉大学学生社团组织收取的会员费在瑞典各大学中相对较低。对学生而言，Nation提供了低价位餐饮与社交的契机；大学学生会与药学院学会底下也设有各种文化性社团、管弦乐团、戏剧学会等不同性质的社团供学生选择。
